JAM CHRISTMAS FOLLIES
SOPHIE JACKSON
The JAM Christmas Follies welcomes Sophie to the Follies dance teams.
Sophie has been studying dance for around 17 years now. Her preferences include Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.
Sophie began training at Childrens Ballet Theatre in Salt Lake City until she was 9 years old. Throughout the rest of middle and High school, she trained at JK&M Dance Studio in Nairobi, Kenya. She is currently studying dance education at Utah Valley University and would ultimately like to dance professionally.
Her favorite styles of dance are either contemporary or ballet!
Sophie did not grow up regularly competing but she did participate in two competitions for East Africa while she was in high school. She has performed in The Nutcracker 2 times once as Clara and once as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Sleeping Beauty as Carabosse, Into the Woods as Cinderella, and The Phantom of the Opera.
She has also performed dancing in Cinderella, Fiddler on the Roof, Once on This Island, Dream Girls, Twelfth Night, and The Polar Express.
Other than dance Sophie loves spending time with her friends and family, teaching, and watching movies! Eventually she wants to dance with a professional company and choreograph after she is done with school!
